Science and Technology Parks Are Backbone of Serbia’s Development

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić and Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski visited the Science and Technology Park in Niš, which symbolically marked the first anniversary of its work. Niš Science and Technology Park now has 35 member companies and employs about 500 young and talented people. The Prime Minister said that science and technology parks are the backbone of the future development of Serbia, and Niš is one of the largest. In that way, Serbia is no longer a country of cheap labor, but a country that is positioned in the world as a place of talented, highly educated, professional people capable of making new products and solving problems in an innovative way, she pointed out. Brnabić reminded that more than 12 million euros were invested in the construction of the Science and Technology Park and more than eight million euros in the Electronic Faculty laboratory and lamella.

Dragana Sotirovski said that the state recognized the importance of Niš, Niš with the Science and Technology Park and Niš without it is not the same city. We agreed with the Prime Minister and the management of the Science and Technology Park to open the doors of the park to the citizens of Niš and this part of Serbia to see what these young people are doing and how impressive it was said Prime Minister Brnabić. Mayor Sotirovski asked the Prime Minister of Serbia and the representatives of the University of Niš to complete, together with the city, the building of 98 apartments in Branka Krsmanovića Street for young scientists. The director of the Science and Technology Park Milan Randjelovic, said that the plan was to have 1,000 employees in the companies in the park by the end of 2023.
