Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski signed an agreement with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Serbia and the Minister of Mining and Energy, Prof. Dr. Zorana Mihajlović on the allocation of funds to increase energy efficiency in the implementation of the national goal of reducing electricity and heat consumption. Niš received nine million dinars for the reduction of electricity and heat consumption, fulfilling the criteria for allocating funds from the Ministry of Mining and Energy in the great competition of local self-governments that applied. Dragana Sotirovski expressed satisfaction and pointed out that the City of Niš has allocated additional 10 million dinars to increase energy efficiency. „The open call lasted a month, and the interest was great. All criteria were met by 67 local governments, and so far one billion dinars have been allocated. This is an important day for everyone. For the state, cities and municipalities, but also for each of us, for each household, which will be able to replace carpentry, insulation, heating boilers,“ said Zorana Mihajlović. The deadline for the public invitation to the companies, which will have to fulfill the conditions in terms of price, quality and deadlines, announced by the local self-governments, is July 10, and the next will be the invitation i for the citizens who are interested. The first contracts with the citizens are expected in August, and the works in September with the control of procedures and works.
