The session of the Club of Cities and Municipalities with a Favorable Business Environment, chaired by City of Niš, was held in the Science and Technology Park and was dedicated to institutional support for development projects in the field of environmental protection. Mayors and presidents of the cities and municipalities discussed future sustainable development at the local level, which is closely related to the orientation towards abandoning the linear and developing the circular economy. Addressing the participants Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski pointed out how important it was to raise awareness about environmental protection and stated that Niš was one step closer to launching the public call for international tender for the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, a project in which the city had the wholehearted help from the Swedish Embassy. NALED Executive Director Violeta Jovanović said that the goal of the session was to hear what kind of support cities and municipalities need in order to be successful.
