At the location of Ardija, where 2,400 apartments for members of the security forces will be built, the works on humanitarian demining on an area of ​​80,000 square meters have begun. Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski, who visited the deminers of the Demining Center of the Republic of Serbia with her associates, said that the project was very important to the City of Niš since an undeveloped part of the city was revived and Somborski Boulevard would be connected with Nikola Tesla Boulevard near the highway. After the demining, archaeologists will also explore this location, because it is expected that objects or remains and testimonies from past times could be found there, the Mayor noted.

The director of the Office for Local Economic Development, Dušan Radivojević, said that the project of building apartments for members of the security forces was being realized in cooperation with the Construction Directorate of Serbia. The director of the Demining Center of Serbia, Bojan Glamočlija, mentioned that a machine for removing vegetation and preparing the terrain for cleaning from any remaining explosive devices would be used in the search of the terrain. He mentioned that the works would be completed within the deadline defined by the project task.
