The City of Niš, in cooperation with doctors from the University Clinical Center, Women’s Center Milica and associations, supported the campaign in support of women with breast cancer who gathered in front of the City Hall. The aim of the campaign is to point out the importance of preventive examinations and self-examinations. October is the month of the fight against breast cancer, said the Assistant Mayor Sanja Stajić. The City of Niš supports associations that work on the promotion of healthy lifestyles, said Sanja Stajić, emphasizing that neglecting health is many times worse for families as the basic units of every society. Speaking about the importance of preventive examinations and self-examinations, the oncologist of the University Clinical Center in Nis, Ana Cvetanović, pointed out that the statistical data were devastating and stated that Serbia was in second place in Europe in terms of breast cancer mortality. The cyclists’ association Konstantin reminded of the importance of healthy lifestyles with a promotional ride in the city center.
