Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the Commission for Coordination of the Process of Permanent Integration of Refugees Nikola Selaković, Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski, Commissioner of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration Vladimir Cucić and the representatives of international institutions handed over the keys to 75 apartments built in settlement Branko Bjegović to refugee families from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina Bjegović. They planted peony flowers in front of the buildings and visited the new apartments. Congratulating on the new apartments and thanking the donors from international institutions, Mayor Sotirovski said that the City of Niš would continue with further construction and providing the content that every new settlement should have. Niš has permanently solved the issue of housing refugees. We have a new task with friends, to provide housing for internally displaced families from Kosovo and Metohija, Niš City Mayor pointed out.



The apartments were built within the Regional Housing Program with donor funds, among which the largest donor is the European Union and which is implemented with the support of the OSCE and UNHCR, said Minister Selaković, congratulating the beneficiaries and thanking them for their patience since the 1990s when they were forced to flee to Serbia saving their own lives and the lives of their loved ones. Minister Selaković thanked donors and representatives of the international community. He wished the beneficiaries to find new happiness in the new apartments. Commissioner for Refugees and Migration Vladimir Cucić, Director of the Public Sector Project Management Unit Dušan Kovačević, EU Representative in Serbia Gerhard Salcer, Ružica Banda on behalf of the OSCE and UNHCR, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Belgrade Stefan Almehagen Sandstad congratulated the beneficiaries on new apartments. Gordana Stojanović thanked on behalf of the beneficiaries and refugee families.
