City Team for Crisis Response: Epidemiological Situation Extremely Unfavorable

City Team for Crisis Response assessed that the epidemiological situation on the territory of Niš was very unfavorable and pointed out that two thirds of the newly infected belonged to the age group from 10 to 49. The most health-endangered groups with coronavirus are older than 55, to whom the virus is transmitted by younger people and among whom deaths are the most common. The daily record of the number of infected people in Niš was recorded this September 17 with 400 positive ones. City Team for Crisis Response once again points out that the vaccination of the population is the only real protection against the increase in diseases and mass infection. Collective immunity against a vicious virus is achieved by a collective awareness of the danger we face. Any misinformation expressed in public relativizes this danger, and the consequence is an increase in the number of sick, hospitalized and dead.

City Team for Crisis Response will take measures of extensive control and supervision of the prescribed protection measures in places where a large number of citizens gather, and especially in shopping malls, large markets, public transport and alike. The recommendation was sent to the University of Niš to undertake timely measures before the beginning of the school year and ensure effective control of compliance with epidemiological protection measures. A recommendation was sent to primary and secondary schools, insisting on providing adequate conditions for conducting combined classes and control of compliance with the prescribed measures: mask, distance, disinfection.

City Team for Crisis Response, with the help of the Expert-Operational Team, will monitor the further course of the epidemic, undertaking, if necessary, stricter measures in relation to those prescribed in the Republic of Serbia in the fight against coronavirus.
