The City of Niš is joining this year’s celebration of the World Day against Alzheimer’s disease. The fortress bridge will lit up purple on the night between September 21 and September 22. Purple is one of the symbols of the fight against Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia. According to the World Health Organization, between six and eight percent of the world’s population over the age of 65 and one percent of the younger population suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia.
