After the talks between the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski, as well as the decision of the Government of Serbia, Niš will receive an additional 200 million dinars for sports from the republic’s current budget reserve. I asked for additional help from the current budget reserve and found full understanding from President Vučić, said the Niš City Mayor at the press conference in the City Hall. The obtained funds for sports clubs, which achieved results in competitions, will be distributed in the next two days by the decision of the City Council, announced Dragana Sotirovski. She invited the clubs to meet after the holidays and agree on how they would work next year. She appealed to clubs from the same sports to unite, to justify the funds received, to regularly pay the rent for the city space they use, to have their sports schools free for the youngest, and the support from the city will come. In 2022, the City of Niš allocated 200 million dinars for sports and 50 million dinars for sports infrastructure. According to the decision of the Board of Directors of the Basketball Association of Serbia Nis will host the Radivoje Korać Cup from February 17 to 20, 2022, for the 17th time, said Mayor Sotirovski. Immediately after the holidays, we will start preparing the hall in the elementary school Duško Radović for the Pioneer Basketball Cup at the same time, we will compete for the Women’s Basketball Cup and prepare for the competition of junior basketball teams in 2023, she said.
