There are currently 24,000 people in the unemployment register in Niš, and our goal is to have less than 20,000. We are preparing special programs for the employment of people with disabilities and those older than 50, about which the public will be informed. Some foreign companies have expressed their readiness to employ those sensitive categories of residents, Niš City Mayor pointed out. The director of the Office for Local Economic Development, Dušan Radivojević, said that the City of Niš had provided funds for technical support, which is already being realized through public works in PUC Mediana on cleaning and maintaining greenery. The Deputy Director of the NES in Niš, Vanja Stojković, said that the signing of the Agreement was the realization of the Local Action Plan for Employment in the period from 2021 to 2023, and those large funds were being allocated together with the city in order to reduce unemployment. The signing of the Agreement was attended by the member of Niš City Council Vladislav Marjanović, who participated in the preparation of that document and defining of the goals of the City of Nis regarding employment.
