“I am happy to share with all of you the joy of winning the Olympic gold with our water polo team and this is a generation of athletes which will not find its match easily in the future”, said  the winner of Olympic gold medal in water polo Sava Randjelovic during the meeting with Nis City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski and her associates. “They gave us a big task to follow in their footsteps, both in the approach to training and outside the pool,” said the golden water polo player, talking about those who said goodbye to the national team with the Olympics in Japan. I spent beautiful years here and if it were not for a strong water polo club, I would not be here either, “Sava said.

Mayor Sotirovski congratulated on the great success of our water polo team, wished Sava more medals and thanked her for representing Niš in the best possible way. Emotions changed the protocol, the conversation was spontaneous. We were all in front of the City Hall, where the citizens spontaneously gathered, wanted to take a picture with him, to touch the medal, and it is quite heavy in fact, but it well deserved. It is our wish, and we will work on it, for Sava to be joined at the next Olympics by someone else from Niš and this part of Serbia, said Mayor Sotirovski. We are looking forward to our next meeting after the Olympics in Paris and new medals.
