80th Anniversary of the Anti-fascist Uprising in Serbia Marked

By commemorating and laying wreaths, with the participation of the Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Darija Kisić Tepavčević, Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski, the president of Alliance of Associations of Veterans of the People’s Liberation War in Serbia General Vidosav Kovačević, guests and citizens, the 80th anniversary of the anti-fascist uprising in the Republic Serbia was marked in Memorial Park Bubanj with manifestation under the slogan   „Let there Be No More Wars.“ This is a reminder of the time of resistance and defiance, the moment to pay tribute to the patriots and heroes who laid down their lives fighting for that greatest value of life – for freedom, said Niš City mayor addressing the audience. Only in freedom Niš can be a place of good life, a place to which people come a not a place which people leave. We will not give up our time in which we will nurture humanity despite the fact that even today some people are trying to spoil our lives. We will not allow them to do that, said Niš City Mayor. We nurture humanity and the more we feel our freedom, the more we recognize someone else’s, Mayor Sotirovski pointed out.

Receiving the high recognition of Alliance of Associations of Veterans of the People’s Liberation War in Serbia of Serbia, she suggested that the manifestation in Memorial park Bubanj, which marked the anti-fascist struggle of the Serbian people, should be held every year. Recalling the victims of the Second World War Minister Darija Kisić Tepavčević said that our common task was to develop a culture of modern memory. We are here to show that we are worthy of our ancestors, said Minister Kisić Tepavčević. Only a stable, strong, militarily neutral, economically developed Serbia is a guarantee of a better life for all its citizens, said Minister Kisić Tepavčević.
