Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski, her assistants, presidents of city municipalities, heads of administrations and directors of public utility companies met with professional building managers to hear their proposals for improving the quality of housing in residential buildings. Landscaping the area between the residential buildings, sports fields, parking, unresolved property and legal relations around buildings, public lighting, underground containers, maintenance of buildings, and communication of professional managers with public services and public utility companies – were the dominant topics. Improving cooperation and direct communication of professional managers with city municipalities, administrations and public utility companies should facilitate their work and efficient problem solving, and the City will be able to start landscaping the area between the residential buildings and solving other problems according to jointly determined priorities.



The meeting with professional building managers was the best way to hear what the problems of the tenants in the residential buildings and blocks were, said the Mayor. Professional managers will be able to report all problems to city municipalities, they will have direct communication with public utility companies in order to quickly eliminate the problem. A special working team will analyze all the effects of the application of the existing Law on Housing and Building Maintenance. In a statement to the press, the President of the City Municipality Pantelej Nataša Stanković presented examples of good practice in cooperation with professional managers in that municipality. The professional managers said that the meeting with all the most responsible people in the City was a step in the right direction and that the agreed types of cooperation were of mutual benefit for them and for the City of Niš. The Mayor announced that a meeting with the same topics would be held with the managers of the buildings elected from among the tenants.
