Participants of the 2021 Sićevo Art Colony in the City Hall

Nature, communication, people, atmosphere, residents of Sićevo who inviting us to drop by, I am delighted with the atmosphere and all that enabled us to work in wonderful mood, said academic painter Djordje Sokolovski from Belgrade during a visit to the City Hall where the participants were welcomed by the Member of Niš City Council Adriana Anastasov. She presented to the artists Niš cultural manifestations and current events in the city. Niš is working on the project of a new building that would house the National Museum and the Gallery of Contemporary Arts, Anastasov told the guests, saying that the city is facing the problem of lack of exhibition space. This year Jelica Ašanin, Djordje Sokolovski, Milica Ružičić, Ivan Milenković, Jovan Spasić, Miljan Nedeljković, Milovan Čikić and Dragan Mijač and Tara Rodić are creating in Sićevo. The director of the Gallery of Contemporary Arts, Emilija Ćocić Bilić, reminded that this was the 58th Art Colony in a row and that she was looking forward to the exhibition of works created in the colony, which would be opened in November this year. The oldest art colony has been supported by the City of Niš and the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia. The organizer of the colony is Niš Gallery of Contemporary Arts.
