Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski and the President of the Basketball Association of Serbia Predrag Danilović, signed an agreement on the organization of the final tournament of the Radivoje Korać Cup, which is being held in Niš for the 17th time in February this year. Sotirovski and Danilović expressed satisfaction with the organization of the national competition in Niš and that the fight for “Žućko’s left” trophy is returning to Čair Sports Hall, which is, as it was said, “synonymous for the Radivoje Korać Cup”. “The number of organization of this competition in Niš shows how much we like to play for the cup in this big city where people are more than open and where they see all participants as their own,” said Danilović after signing the contract. He pointed out that Niš was known for the film and music festival, but also for the basketball festival. “I expect us to enjoy basketball,” he said. Basketball is returning Čair in great style and there is nothing more beautiful for a Mayor than when you see the satisfaction of citizens, even those from the surrounding area and abroad who are announcing their arrival in Niš, Mayor Sotirovski pointed out. She invited all Niš citizens to be good hosts, to enjoy basketball and to look forward to every new national cup that would be held in Niš in the coming years. The Basketball Association of Serbia donated sports equipment to the Day Care Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities Mara. Čair Sports Hall was built in 1974, and the first national basketball cup was held in Niš in 1975. The National Cup was given its current name in 2003, which it proudly bears, and Niš hosted the final competition that year as well.
