Completion of the Secondary Sewerage Network in Popovac

The works on the completion of the construction of the secondary sewerage network in Popovac will begin next week, as it has been agreed between Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski and the local residents within the continuation of the city caravan and talks with the citizens. The Mayor visited Popovac together with the President of the City Municipality Crveni Krst, Miroslav Milutinović, and his associates, in order to hear directly from the citizens their suggestions on what should be done first this year. Popovac is a large village in the City Municipality Crveni Krst with about 4,500 inhabitants and 250 children. The director of PUC Naissus Goran Milosavljevic, confirmed that the machines will be in Popovac on the first day of next week.

First, we will connect the households to the already built secondary sewerage network, and then we will continue the construction of the missing part, said Mayor Sotirovski. „We expect that European Union will soon select the contractor for the wastewater treatment plant and the construction of the Medoševac collector, to which all villages along the route will be connected and which will receive the secondary network in stages,“ she said. Milutinović pointed out that all defined construction priorities for 2021 have been completed and expressed confidence that it will be the same this year. Last year, we revitalized 20 streets, and this year we preselected another 30 streets, we set priorities in direct conversation with the citizens, said Milutinović. The citizens of Popovac presented to the Mayor and her associates what still needed to be done in the village with nearly 1,000 households.
