Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski and her associates presented 54 bicycles to students of primary and secondary schools in Niš in a campaign initiated by the City of Niš and the Traffic Safety Agency of the Republic of Serbia. The teachers’ school councils proposed students who became owners of bicycles. This week training for cyclists will begin and four elementary schools in Niš will receive training polygons where students will be able to learn and practice how to behave safely in traffic, said Niš City mayor, addressing students, their parents and principals of primary and secondary schools who gather at the plateau in front of Niš City Hall on the above said occasion. We want more bicycles, more bicycle paths and clean air in the city, Mayor pointed out and announced the continuation of the construction of bicycle paths. According to her the City will soon announce a public call for co-financing purchase of bicycles as an environmentally friendly means of transport with the intention of increasing the number of cyclists on the streets of the City, in order to improve air quality and reduce environmental pollution.
