Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski and the representative of the Alex Engineering & Construction Consortium Aleksandar Obradović signed the contract on the construction of an aqua park in Niška Banja on an area of 5.4 hectares. After many decades of waiting the City of Niš will get a modern aqua park like the big European cities with the capacity of  3,400 visitors at the same time, which will contain recreational pools, wave pools, a lazy river, slides, and a children’s playground. The Alex Engineering & Construction consortium as a contractor and subcontractors are from Serbia. The deadline for the completion of the construction of the open and closed part of the aqua park is three years. The closed part will work all 12 months of the year and will have a part for children with attractions, a quiet part, a spa center, a restaurant. The aqua park is the reason why private investors are already expressing interest in the construction of additional facilities in the area of the City Municipality Niška Banja. With the aqua park Nis and Niska Banja will be in a prominent place on the tourist map of Serbia, but also of the wider region, said Niš City Mayor. Preparatory work will begin before the end of this year, as announced by the representatives of the Alex Engineering & Construction Consortium. The president of the City Municipality Niška Banja, Dušan Živković said that this was a very important day for Niška Banja and pointed out that this, as well as other realized, started and planned projects, was an example of care of the city leadership for Niška Banja like never before.
