The 110th Anniversary of Niš Scout Association Marked

The ceremonial academy and award ceremony marked the 110th anniversary of the Niš Scout Association, at which the City of Nis was presented with a special recognition for its contribution to the work of that organization. The plaque was received by the Deputy Mayor of Niš Dušica Davidović who thanked for the recognition and pointed out the great contribution of the scout organization in the education and growth of young people into responsible members of society. The plaque was presented to the Assembly of the City of Niš, which was received by President Boban Džunić, who especially emphasized the contribution of scouts in the defense of Obrenovac from the 2014 floods. Niš city municipalities, the Serbian Army, the 63rd Parachute Brigade, the Police Administration in Niš, the Fire Brigade and city institutions received the recognitions as token of gratitude for helping Niš scouts in the realization of their actions and programs. The film „11 Stories in 11 Decades“, shown at the ceremony, tells the history of the scout movement in Niš, starting from its founding on June 20, 1911, when the student Panta Arandjelović founded the first scout company. The Scout Association of Niš is the winner of the City of Niš Award „11. January”,  and the highest awards in the country and the highest scout decorations.
