Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski opened the skating season in Sports Center Čair and announced that the skating rink would be open as long as the weather conditions allowed it. „I think that we are successfully finishing this year, that we will have many important investments in the construction of sports infrastructure next year,“ said the Mayor. She mentioned that the City of Niš would support the initiatives coming from Sports Center Čair regarding sports infrastructure. “We set aside 50 million dinars for the sports infrastructure in the city budget for 2022”, Mayor Sotirovski reminded and invited the citizens to give proposals for the renovation of playgrounds in their settlements. “I am in favor of supporting sports clubs, which use city halls and fields for free, but I expect that membership in sport clubs and sport schools are free for the youngest, said Niš Mayor. The opening of the season at the skating rink in Sports Center Čair was attended by Sofija Rodić, who, although she did not have ideal conditions for training in speed skating in Niš, won a large number of medals at international competitions. Acting director of Sports Center Čair Branka Arandjelović announced that, in January, the center would organize a free skating school for the youngest.
