I wish our fellow citizens of the Jewish faith health, peace, prosperity, happiness and joy. The Jewish community in Niš is part of the history of our city and in the best way represents the deep connection between the Serbian and Jewish people. Israel, as the homeland of the Jews, and Serbia have always been on the same side of history, sharing suffering and victory, nurturing friendly relations. The long tradition of this friendship has been confirmed by the recent founding of the Serbian-Israeli Friendship Club in Niš, whose goal is to connect Israel and Serbia and our two nations even more in the future. Let this holiday be an expression of peace and tolerance among all the peoples of the world and be a reminder that Niš, with its diversity of cultures, has its greatest wealth.
