Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski with her associates and the representatives of the PE “Tržnica” Niš started discussions on moving open green wholesale market from its current location to a new location in the western part of the City Municipality Palilula. At the meeting it was agreed to initiate the procedure for preparation of the Feasibility Study, for acquiring land for the new location and its infrastructural equipment. The planned location will be easier to reach from the highway, and the distributors of agricultural products will have easier access, even those who bring their products by trucks from the south of Serbia or even abroad. The president of the City Municipality Palilula Bratislav Vučković said that the green wholesale market would be a big step forward for that municipality in terms of development. The possibilities of relocating the central green market as well as the construction of new green markets in the area, for example, in Somborski Bulevar Street or in the settlement Ledena Stena where there are needs for this type of services, were also discussed. The meeting was attended by the members of Niš City Council, Niš Institute for Urban Planning, City of Niš Office for Local Economic Development and Projects, the competent secretariats of the City of Niš Administration, the Real Estate Cadaster Office in Niš and the City of Niš Public Attorney General’s Office.
