Edict of Music – Joint Promotion of the City of Niš and Niš Diocese

By holding the International Festival of Spiritual Music Edict of Music, which is attended by 14 choirs from eight countries, Niš, after a difficult and crisis period, opens its doors to guests from all over the world, as it was said at a press conference organized by the City of Nis and Nis Diocese at Nis City Hall. Nis City Council Member Adriana Anastasov pointed out the strong support of the City of Nis for the important festival, which is a chance for joint presentation and promotion of the city. The City of Nis and the Tourist Organization of Nis will present rich cultural and historical heritage to the guests, announced the director of that organization Dragana Petković. Archpriest-stavrofor Branislav Cincarević said that the festival would start on the day of the celebration of the patron of the Orthodox cathedral in Niš, June 20th, and it would last until June 23, and that the guest choirs would perform in Niš, but also in some other cities. He pointed out that the festival was supported by the City of Nis and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia. A concert of spiritual music will also be held in Belgrade. The director of the Festival Council Sara Cincarevicć said that the singer must sing regardless of the time and challenges, adding that the festival opens new bridges of cooperation. Choirs from Serbia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Albania, Ukraine, Poland, Romania, the USA and Latvia are participating in the festival. The seventh festival of spiritual music, which is held biennially, is organized under the auspices of His Holiness Patriarch of Serbia Porfirije and with the blessing of His Eminence Bishop of Niš Arsenije.
