City of Niš could be a partner in the project on the Serbian traditional folk dance and one of the cities where a documentary series on the cultural heritage of Serbia inscribed on the UNESCO list will be filmed, it was said in a conversation between Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski and Željko Mirković the director of that series. The documentary series will be filmed in 15 cities in Serbia and in five cities in Republika Srpska. Mirković, the winner of 59 international awards and two candidacies for the award of the American Film Academy Oscar, presented his work on the project about Šaban Bajramović to the Mayor Sotirovski. The conversation between the director and the Mayor was an opportunity to recall the great international success of Mirković’s feature-length documentary “Tesla’s People” about emigrants and famous Serbs who built America, co-produced by Optimistic Film with Serbian Radio and Television and shown on national TV station. The film “Tesla’s People” is included in the archives of the Library of Congress of the USA, universities in Harvard, Columbia, Yale, Pittsburgh, the Library of Alexandria in Egypt, the national libraries of Russia and France.
