STANDING CONFERENCE OF TOWNS AND MUNICIPALITIES
STANDING CONFERENCE OF TOWNS AND MUNICIPALITIES is a national Local Government Association in Serbia, founded in Belgrade in 1953 and reformed in 1998, with the aim of local self-governments development and promotion, connection and cooperation between towns and municipalities on common goals achievement, establishing cooperation at local and international level and setting up common interest and aims.
SCTM numbers 167 members today - cities and municipalities in Serbia that equally participate in the work of SCTM.
In achieving its goals, SCTM participates also in development of law models, draft rules and national strategies which concern local self-governments, organizes public debates, gives expert suggestions or proposal for addition and change of existing laws, rules or strategies.
SCTM represents the point where towns and municipalities gather together with the aim to exchange opinions and launch initiatives for improvement positions of local self-government in Serbia.
The activities of SCTM are being carried out through the work of committees, projects with foreign partners, cooperation with international organizations, servicing and advocating interests of towns and municipalities in front of the state institutions.
