Žarko Ranković, MD PhD


He was born in 1952 in Višegrad. He graduated at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Niš.

He has specialized in infective diseases and he is permanently employed at the Clinical Center Niš. He has been a professor at the Faculty of Medicine Niš and the director of the Clinic for Infective Diseases at the Clinical Center Niš.


He is the president of the Infective Disease Department of the Serbian Medical Association. He is the author and co-author of more than 100 professional and scientific papers.

As the member of Nis City Council in two consecutive terms he gave special contribution in the field of environment protection and improving the readiness of the local community to reposnd to emergency situations.


He is the vice president of the Serbian Socialist Party City Board.


He speaks Russian and Polish.

He is married and he is the father of two children.
