2005

  • The project Good Farm represented the donation in the amount of 1.000.000,00 Euros which was the support  from Dutch government to local communities in Serbia according to the Memorandum of Understanding  signed with RS Government. The project involved the City of Niš with two demonstrational farms and the City of Šabac with 5 demonstrational farms. The families from the  villages on the Niš City territory who bred cows received the farming donation worth 50.000 Euros.

2003-2005

  • Beautiful Serbia was a temporary employment and vocational training project of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Government implemented with the support of the United Nations Development Programme. The Project was essentially funded by Canadian Government, Dutch Government, Austrian Government, Greek Government as well as UNDP but the beneficiary municipalities (Belgrade, Nis, Novi Sad) and the Ministry of Labour and Employment contribute to a significant share of the overall project budget. Government of Netherlands made available to UNDP US $ 562,430 for the financing of the project Beautiful Serbia in Belgrade and Nis. Out of this contribution, the funding to the benefit of the City of Nis for works was US $ 240,000 and the funding for vocational training is US $ 40,000. Whereas the City of Nis agreed to make available the equivalent in Dinars of US $ 129,780 as co-financing to the project which represented 50% of the donor funds made available for works (1/3 of the project budget for works). The project consisted of providing vocational training in construction skills for unskilled long-term unemployed. These unemployed were subsequently hired by firms contracted by the project to refurbish selected public buildings, public squares and parks.
