  • Settlement and Integration of Refugees Programme in Serbia – SIRP. UN-HABITAT is implementing the Programme together with the national partner, Ministry of Capital Investments of the Republic of Serbia.
  • Informative Communication Center for Entrepreneurship Development was opened at Nis City Administration within SEENET programme financed by the Italian Ministry of Exterior and Tuscany Region and implemented by Italian NGO UCODEP, Serbian National Employment Service, Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Empolese Valdesa Regional Development Agency.
  • Cooperation with regions of Tuscany, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Apulia, Emilia Romagna through the implementation of EU projects.
  • CITY OF NIŠ DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY - Project financed by the Government of Italy within SIRP Settlement and Integration of Refugees Programme in Serbia with the technical support of UN-HABITAT United Nations Human Settlements Programme and with the technical assistance of ERVET Emilia Romagna Valorizzazione Economica Territorio.

NORWAY
  • Project on entrepreneurship, training and services in Niš (Business Incubator Centre) – Partners in the project: Ministry of foreign affairs of Norway and Norwegian Foundation for scientific and industrial financing SINTEF (2005).
  • Establishing of the Regional centre for professional development in education in Niš – donation from Republic of Norway Government (2004).
  • Norwegian Ministry of External Affairs supported the reconstruction of the airport Constantine the Great with 4 million Euros (2003).
  • SALTDAL COMMUNE (ROGNAN) - cooperation first started in 1986, but was unfortunately interrupted by wars and sanctions. In May 2002 this cooperation was renewed and re-established with a Letter of Intent signed by two cities.

  • KURSK - Friendly relationship between two cities, Niš and Kursk has been lasting from 1920. Cooperation Agreement between the City of Niš and City of Kursk was signed on September 24th, 2006.

SWITZERLAND
  • During 2009, Regional Center for Professional Develpoment of Educators in Niš joined the PDP project (Professional Develpoment Project), which has been bein implemented on the basis od MoU signed between the Swiss government – Swiss Agency for the Development and Cooperation (SDC) nad RS Mionsitry of Education in 2003.
  • In 2001, the City of Niš signed the agreement on the implementation of the municipality support programme with Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The programme consisted of five components: 1) municipality development 2) education and training 3) administration reforms 4) the development of private sector and 5) integration of the minority groups into society. The Swiss government financed the following:
    • part of the construction works for the reconstruction of the overpass in Zetska street
    • the construction of the collector in the village of Medoševac
    • the construction of the primary school Milan Rakić in Medoševac
    • the installation of four new switch into transformer station NIŠ 2, which secured the stable functioning of the whole electric power transfer system.
    In 2004, SDC, together with UNHCR and the City of Niš built 46 flats for the refugees in the settlement of Pasi Poljana.
