Niš City Mayor Miloš Simonović opened officially III Agricultural Fair Niš - 2009. This is the third time in a row that the fair is held in the spa of Niška Banja. The opening ceremony was also attended by Mr. Željko Radošević, state secretary of RS Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. He pointed out that this was the best organised fair in this part of Serbia...

City Municipality Mediana and Public Utility Company Mediana took part, for the first time together, at 5th International Environment Protection Fair - Ecofair. Tourist and natural potential of Niš City and its surroundings were presented at this fair together with the strategy, projects and educational programmes for Niš environment protection.

Niš City administration for agriculture and rural development presented 8 exhibitors from all five Niš municipalities who promoted local food products at the 35th International Agriculture Fair - Ethno.

With the support of LEDIB Programme financed by Kingdom of Denmark, the City of Niš joined 115 small and medium enterprises from Niš region at the traditional entrepreneurship fair "Business Base 2008". "Step Towards Success" was the slogan of this fair and it indicated the opportunities for the employment increase, crisis overcoming and successful transition ending.

During the discussions at the round table dedicated to possibilities and perspectives of investing into Serbian municipalities, organized within Local Self-government Investment Potentials Fair, the Mayor of Niš, Mr Miloš Simonović, said that these events were not only the excellent opportunities for the exchange of the opinions and experiences with the colleagues from other municipalities in Serbia but also the opportunity for meeting the representatives of big companies from different business fields which are interested in investing into local projects. The City of Niš has extraordinary economy potentials and it is completely open and ready to take over the role of leader in the region development.

Fair of Investments INVESTEXPO was held in Novi Sad this year for the third time in the period 4-7 November at the Master Hall of Novi Sad Fair. The aim of this fair was to provide business, professional, educational and promoting environment where the cities and local self-governments from the entire Serbian area would be able successfully to present activities, plans, projects and their resources to the foreign and domestic investors in order to get competitive in the market and develop more efficiently.

Number of visitors and exhibitors of 2nd Agricultural Fair in Niš has shown the need of the agricultural producers in this region for this type of events, i.e. a place where they would be able to see and buy everything they need for successful dealing with agriculture. The estimations say that, in spite bad weather, 3-days lasting fair was visited by 10 000 visitors. 70 exhibitors of goods and services from all parts of Serbia, 40 agricultural associations, 50 sheep and goats breeders and almost 700 fun program performers presented themselves at the fair.

City administration for economy, sustainable development and environmental protection in cooperation with the Regional Economy Chamber Niš presented agricultural and economic potentials of the city of Niš at 75th International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad. The bench of the city of Niš named "The Best of Niš" was located in the Hall no.3 of Novi Sad Fair. The exhibitors at this year Novi Sad Fair were 6 companies and 6 agricultural producers associations.

1st Agricultural Fair Niš 2007 was held in Niška Banja. Companies dealing with equipment and mechanisation, green house producers and replanters, processing, cattle food, bank and services, cities representatives, agricultural producers associations, farms and small animal breeders, home made products participated at the Fair. During the Fair days 9th Republic Goats Exhibition (20 exhibitors) and 4th Republic Sheep Exibition (30 exhibitors) were held, too.
