Project: Development for Sustainable Management and Use of Forests

Project Description: Joint project implementation will result in raising the consciousnesses about environment protection and about the need to protect the forests from further destruction. The project will launch the campaign for forest protection and the process for establishing sustainable forest usage and management regardless of the state borders. By linking all the factors that have the impact on forest usage and management the promptness in responding to natural disasters and crisis management will be increased. Besides ecological aspect, the project also envisages sharing international protocols and practices in forest management.
Project Value: Total project budget is 200.000 EUR, out of which 75.000 EUR is allocated for project implementation in Serbia.

Project: Municipal Support Programme IPA 2007 – Good Local Governance, Planning and Service Delivery
Lead partner:This EU funded project is implemented by a consortium led by GIZ International Services in cooperation with Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities and RS Ministry for Humanity and Minority Rights, Public Administration and Local Self-Government.

Project description: It is focused on the provision of technical assistance by MSP IPA 2007 to Nis City in elaboration of the long term Capital Investment Plan, defining city budget allocations for capital investments, and determining credit worthiness of the city.

Project: Support to Refugees and IDPs in Serbia

Project description: The project envisages providing financial and technical support to 45 refuges and IDPs including the socially vulnerable citizens. Potential beneficiaries should suggest economically viable business ideas in order to receive the donated equipment/material (average value of 1.500,00 EUR). The selected beneficiaries should undergo the training for chosen business operations and obligatory communal voluntary work.
Project value: 67.500,00€. The project is financed by EU through EU Delegation to Serbia.

Project: Strengthening capacities of Niš City for ambient and eco tourism

Project description: Improvement of living conditions of inhabitants in rural area and protection of natural wealth, as well as improvement of accommodation capacities, involvement of Niš City in the network of ambient and eco tourism, sensibilization of local inhabitants, promotion of tourism and tourist potentials in Niš.
Complete project documentation for the construction of 11 housing facilities and ethno restaurant with an information desk will be produced by the Institute for the Protection of Monuments.
Project value: 151.141€. Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will finance the project with 104.819€, and Niš City with 46.322€ out of which 30.000€ will be provided by Tourist Organization of Niš.

Project: Establishment of Center for sustainable development of projects, project designing and implementation of the projects in line with EU standards

Project description: During the implementation of the projects, employees in the Project Center of Niš City Administration of Economy, Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection will convey their experience and best practice to employees in Lazarevac Municipality in establishing and functioning of the Project Center in line with EU Standards.
Project value: 140.524,65€. EU Delegation will finance the project in the amount of 119.445.95€, while participation of Lazarevac Municipality is 21.078,70€.

Project: Improvement of City Services and Management Capacities in the City of Niš

Project description: The project presents an organization of efficient and modern local-self government and activities on local-economic development through modernization of City Service Center in order to:
- Improve the provision of communal services to citizens and companies by the establishment of a Call Center,
- Improve the information flow
- Improve the provision of services to citizens and companies in the process of permits issuing
- Improve the knowledge of employed in city administrations by a visit and adoption of best practices in Aarhus, Denmark
Project value: 143.000€ (EU Delegation finances 85,3% of total value of the project, while the participation of the City is 14,7%)
