City of Niš is the winner of the Golden Key of the Danube Region Award, which was received by the Deputy Mayor of Niš, Dušica Davidović, at a ceremony held in Niš. The recognition was given to Niš “as a prosperous local self-government that was recognized in the region by the affirmation of economic and social creativity in this part of Serbia” and “to Niš which was becoming a modern city with strong international ties”, a city of tolerance, openness and dynamic development. Thanking for the award Deputy Mayor Davidović said that the award was an incentive for Niš, but also for the surrounding cities of this region to work harder. The recognition is awarded by Media Invent from Novi Sad, the Institute of European Regions (IRE) from Salzburg and the Union of Employers of Serbia during the Danube Business Forum. Niš City Mayor Dragana Sotirovski participated in the work of the Danube Business Forum, where she presented the city and its plan for further development. At the ceremony in the Officers’ Home individuals were presented with the Danube Charter and Captain Miša Anastasijević Awards for the achieved results in economic and social creativity.
