2011

  • City of Niš and German Humanitarian Organization HELP signed 80 individual contracts on donation of the equipment for business start up and two contracts with cooperatives from Niš, within the second cycle of Support to Local Sustainable Development through the Reduction of Poverty Programme. In this way, the number of supported business increased to 354.

2010

  • DIN "Tobacco Factory" part of "Philip Morris International" and NGO ENECA signed the Cooperation Contract for the project "Reduction of Poverty through the Support of Start-up Business". This project will provide support to 45 clients more. They will get the equipment, whose value is, in average, around 180.000 dinars, as well as business and professional training and counseling. Total value of this project financed by DIN "Phillip Morris" is 9.6 million dinars.
  • NGO ENECA signed forty nine grant contracts with refugees and internally displaced persons within the project »Support to Refugees and IDPs in Serbia« The aim of »Support to Refugees and IDPs in Serbia« project implemented in partnership with IOM and ENECA is to financially and technically support refugees and IDPs residing in Nis, including a small number of socially vulnerable Niš citizens. These contracts represent the assistance in the equipment and material of average value up to 1.500,00 EUR intended for refugees and IDPs to start their own business activity and thus gain economic independence in the process of integration. Supported beneficiaries will attend tailor made business and vocational trainings and perform 15 hours of community service while ENECA will procure the requested equipment. International Organization for Migrations' (IOM) program is financed by the European Union through EU Delegation in Serbia and its aim is to contribute to the efforts made by the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia to improve living conditions and find solution for residential problems of these categories, in line with the National strategy for the solution of refugees' and IDPs' problems.
  • Тhe Protocol was signed with International Organisation - Behindertenhilfe from Hesssen Germany on cooperation in the area of social care services primarily providing services to physically and mentally challenged people. The cooperation protocol focuses on partnership in improving the functioning of the institutions in South East Serbia in charge of taking care of physically and mentally challenged people. IB Behindertenhilfe will provide consulting services on the preparation of the city social care system plans and it will work together with the City of Niš on opening the Resource Center, out-patient care department as well as on the organisation of the daily workshops.
  • Cooperation Agreement has been signed between the City of Nis and HELP within the project “Poverty reduction through local sustainable development in the South Serbia” financed by the German Government and implemented by HELP in cooperation with the local partners, local non-governmental organizations ENECA-Economic Expert Community Association from Nš and EDEAS-Economic Development Association from Bujanovac. Project will be implemented in the period from 1st of July 2010 till 31sth of December 2011.
    The City of Nis and HELP will cooperate on the following issues during the implementation of the project:
    • Support to the implementation of the Strategy for local sustainable development;
    • Identifying and networking partners within the framework of the project  with special attention to the SME sector;
    • Direct job creation and improvement of the the employability of  vulnerable population, youth, unemployed, single parents and disabled persons;
    • Provide visual identity of the Donor.

    Total value of the Project 956.200,00 EUR will be financed by:

    • German Government in the amount of 450.000,00 EUR
    • Cities and the municipalities included in the Project in the amount of 373.000,00 EUR; the City of Niš will grant HELP a contribution of 130.000,00 EUR in the year 2010/2011 as input in the realization of the Project within the City of Niš.
  • German non-governmental organization Help regional representative for South and East Europe Timo Stegelmann and Niš City Mayor Miloš Simonović presented the digital x-ray equipment with corresponding software to Niš Dentistry Clinic. The donated equipment in the value of 662.000,00 RSD was procured as the part of the project Support to Local Sustainable Development in South Serbia.
  • Nis City renewed contacts with the City of Bad Homburg and initiated twinning, the City with which friendly cooperation was established in 1999. In this period the City of Homburg, through donations in equipment helped Center for Daily Stay of Mentally Disabled Children, Youth and Adults- "Mara" PU "Pcelica" and Clinical Center
  • With the support of Branch Office of Chamber of Commerce of Serbia in Frankfurt a cooperation with business community of German Federal Principality of Hessen

    • 2009

    • Memorandum of Understanding on the realization of project of sustainable development projects during 2010 was signed with German NGO HELP. It implies cooperation between Niš City and NGO HELP on the realization of the project of sustainable development i.e. one of basic aims of cooperation id to create new jobs through the development of start-up businesses and entrepreneurships. The project will support 80 clients in their intention to establish or develop their business operations. The support will include the donation of equipment and materials worth on average up to 2.000,00 Euros, the organization of the professional and expert trainings and professional counseling.
    • Nis City signed the Contract on Cooperation with German non-governmental organization HELP in the framework of the Project "Support to local sustainable development in Southern Serbia" that relates to provision of donations for start-up businesses, organization of business and expert trainings and organization of expert practice in private companies.
    • Embassy of Federal republic of Germany and German no-governmental organization HELP provided a neuro-feedback device for Daily Hospital for children and youth of the Clinic for Protection of Mental Health and neuro-psychiatry of developmental age of Clinical Center Niš.
    • By signing a three-lateral contract on use of KFW funds intended for realization of program "Rehabilitation of Local Heating System in Serbia- phase III" in July 2008, among the Republic of Serbia, City of Niš and PUC " Gradska toplana" (City Distant Heating Plant) Niš, conditions for realization of favorable engagement for acquisition of equipment and services intended for rehabilitation ad modernization of local heating system by PUC " Gradska toplana" Niš, were obtained.   

    2004

    • Housing units for 40 refugee families from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia were constructed with the donation of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and implementation partner in the project is Federal Institution for Technical Assistance- THW  

    2002

    • German Government donated funds for adaptation of the Department for Invasive Diagnostics of Clinic for Cardio-vascular diseases of Niš Clinical Center, as well as for devices for the equipment of most modern laboratory for heart catheterization and angiography. 

    2001

    • Niš City signed the Protocol on cooperation with German Governmental Organization GTZ for the following projects: Modernization of Communal Services, Energetic Efficiency, Producing a Strategy for Communal Waste Management, Unified billing (2001 и 2004).
    • German Government, by means of Credit Institution for Reconstruction - KfW provided donation for PUC "Gradska Toplana" for 2 phases of project for reconstruction of distant heating in the amount of 8,2 mil of Euros (2001, 2002, 2003).
    • German Government, by means of Credit Institution for Reconstruction - KfW provided donation for PUC "Naissus" for 2 phases of project for rehabilitation of water supply system, in the amount of 4,7 mil. of Euros (2001 и 2002).

    2000

    • German Agency for Reconstruction and Development, donated, on Behalf of German Government, two trucks for transportation of waste.
    • Program "Asphalt for Democracy" was realized and the City got bitumen for asphalt paving of city streets in the amount of 100.000 DM.
