2011

  • The project External and Internal SME Networking has the objective to support the improvement of SME competitiveness on national and export markets by improving the local business environment through direct involvement of private sector representatives in creation of Nis City LED and SME development policies and activities. The total project value is 1.490.000,00 RSD out of which LEDIB would provide 1.250.000,00 RSD while the City would provide 240.000,00 RSD. By implementing this project all the instruments currently available will be used to improve the business climate in the city, improve internal SME networking among local businesses, improve networking of local companies and FDIs from the region and improve the cooperation and between the City of Nis, local business community and FDIs.
  • NGO Balkan Development Team and the City of Aarhus from Denmark are implementing the project within Exchange 3 Programme, supported financially by EU, focused on the improvement of Niš City administration services functioning and management capacities. Based on the City of Aarhus experiences and experiences of public utilities from Nis, the project working group created the system which should assist in better informing of the citizens and better provision of the services consequently improving the resolution of the communal problems in Niš.
  • During the months of June and July 2011, the Local Democracy Agency for Central and Southern Serbia and the City of Aarhus Office in Niš will jointly screened the series of Danish movies in the European Corner. The selection of Danish documentaries, dramas and comedies could give the audience a better sense of Danish society, culture and mentality in general. The movies were especially interesting for young people in Niš since they were portraying the living conditions of young people in Denmark and the problems experienced by Danish youth.
  • City of Aarhus International Office in Niš organized an exhibition entitled Days of Aarhus in Niš, in the European Corner in March. The exhibition was prepared by officers from the City of Aarhus, who were currently working in Niš within the program Support of the City of Aarhus to the Agency for Local Democracy for Central and Southern Serbia and the City of Niš. Some of the exhibitors were: Danish Embassy in Belgrade, Archeological Museum of Aarhus, Old Aarhus Museum, University of Aarhus, Museum of Contemporary Art, Official Tourist Organization of Aarhus and Denmark, Region of Aarhus- Brussels Office, Danish Parliament- EU Office, International High School for EU Affairs, LEDIB Program and Danish furniture company- Ergomade- located in Niš.

2010

  • Niš City, City of Aarhus and Agency for Local Democracy for Central and Southern Serbia signed a Partnership Agreement for the "Program of Institutional Support of the City of Aarhus to Niš City and LDA Office"
  • Niš City established the Department for Capital Investments, financially supported by LEDIB Program. The purpose of this new department is to facilitate faster administration of the procedures in the investing processes, to inform the public timely and accurately about current investments into city capital facilities, to analyze data and their usage with the purpose of taking the future steps and initiatives in the area of planning and construction and to create good business climate image.
    Department for Capital Investments will facilitate communication between local self- government and investors by standardization of the procedures, improvement of working methods and improvement of codex of employees' work which is the main objective of this project.
    New equipment and engagement of 10 educated and competent people in the Department create good conditions for the provision of services to the clients. The provision of the equipment and IT equipment was financially supported by LEDIB Program

2009

  • Signed Twinning Protocol with the City of Aarhus
  • Niš City and Aarhus City signed the Agreement on Cooperation on the Project- Job center, which comprises knowledge and long experience of Aarhus City, and it will be implemented in Niš City and all City Municipalities.

2008

  • Signed Agreement on strengthening capacities between LEDIB Program and Niš City, based on which the following projects were realized:
    • Developing Entrepreneurial Spirit in Professional Secondary Schools
    • Production of Tourism Development Strategy for the City of Niš
    • Foundation of a Departments for Capital Investments
    • Weekly bulletin SME in newspapers "Narodne novine"

2007

  • LEDIB Program (Program of Local Economic Development in the Balkans focused on development of small and medium enterprises sector) and Niš City signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
