2009

  • During 2009, regional center for professional development of educators joined Project - Professional Development Project – PDP for professional development of educators which is realized based on Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2003 between Governments. Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia.

2001

  • In July 2001, Niš City signed the Agreement on Implementation of Program of Support to Municipalities with Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The aim of this program was to promote autonomy, efficient and responsible local self-government and program itself contains 5 areas of action- development of municipalities, process of education and training, reform of city administration, development of private sector and integration of minority groups in the society. 
  • During this year Swiss Government also financed:
  • A part of works on reconstruction of overpass in Zetska street;
  • Construction of primary school in Medoševac;
  • Installation of four new switches- power 400 KW (the value of switches was 1 mil. Euros) in Transformer station – Niš 2- which ensured more secure work of whole transmission system.
  • Construction of sewage node of collectors in Ivana Milutinovića Street in Niš. Total amount of works was 7.306.063, 00 dinars; from that 3.619,341,00 dinars is a donation from Switzerland. The importance of realization of this project is dislocation of waste water flux which is a long-term problem of Medoševac inhabitants.  

2000

  • Niš City Assembly and Swiss Humanitarian Organization (SDR) signed the Agreement which officially initiated construction of 6 new housing facilities with four flats each in Pasi Poljana Settlement. The value of construction works was more than 10 mil RSD and the City provided land and communal infrastructure (value around 3 mil RSD). In January 2001 the keys for those 24 flats were delivered.  UN High Commissariat for Refugees acquired basic furniture and wood for heating. 
  • PU "Pčelica" got transport vehicle that will be used for food delivery from central kitchen to nurseries and kindergartens in Niš. The vehicle )value 15.000 DM) is a donation of City Government, Swiss Embassy and Swiss Humanitarian Organization SDR
  • PUC Naissus got from SDR a device for analyses of presence of organic carbon in underground and ground waters. This donation in the amount of 45.000 DM is a result of the project in which, with the help of Niš City Assembly, jointly enter SDR and Naissus and is related to monitoring of quality of underground and ground waters in Niš.
