2011

  • Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) has supported financially the project entitled Removal Non-technical Barriers for Using Biomass for Energy Production - Biogenerator which is implemented by a consortium of civil society organisations in cooperation with city administrations. The project BIOGENERATOR is implemented with the support of the program SECTOR, implemented by the Regional Environmental Center (REC, with the aim to support civil society organizations in the field of environmental protection in South Europe. The total value of the project is 30.745 EUR.
    Mission of the project is to identify measures to overcome non-technical barriers for the implementation of bio-energy facilities in Nis, with prolonged use of the possibility of multiple projects in the region. The project includes research and analysis with a focus on inter-regional transfer of knowledge and exchange of experiences (best practice models), study visits, capacity building and information dissemination. Biogas, bio-briquettes and sawdust / wood waste are the focus of this project.
    The project stakeholders are: Consortium of Civil Societies Agrovet Management Project, Ecopolis, Niš City Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Niš City Department of Economics, Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection, Niš City Department of Public Utility Services, Energy and Transport, Niš Regional Center for Energy Efficiency, Agricultural Extension Service Niš, PUC Gorica, PUC Mediana, PUC City Heating Plant.

2010

  • Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Office for Project Exports and the City of Niš organised the one-day seminar entitled Partnership for Sustainable Infrastructure Development in November 2010. The objective of the seminar was to further enhance Serbian - Swedish cooperation in developing sustainable infrastructure projects.
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Kingdom of Sweden provided financial means for the production of Study on Energetic Balance on the territory of the City of Niš.

2009

  • City of Niš signed the Agreement on production of Financially Acceptable Feasibility Study of Environmental and Technical Improvement of Nis Airport Constantine the Great with representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Kingdom of Sweden, as well as the Agreement of consulting services with Consulting Company SEK.
  • City of Niš signed the Agreement on production of Financially Acceptable Feasibility Study for the program of development of waste water treatment plant  with representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Kingdom of Sweden, as well as the Agreement of consulting services with Consulting Company SEK.
  • Letter of Intent with Vaxjo City.

2003

  • Project of dairy prduction development in Niš Region "River of Milk" . The value of the project was 2 mil. dolars and was financed by the  Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Kingdom of Sweden (2003).
