SLOVENIA
2011
- The representatives from Niš City Administration for Agriculture and Rural Development, Institute for Viticulture and Wine Making, RDA South, City Municipality Pantelej and the members of the agricultural associations, went on a three-day study tour to Slovenia in order to learn more about good practices in agricultural development in the context of EU agricultural development and regional policy and inter-sectoral networking. The delegation had the opportunity to find out more about the ways EU is financing regional and local development through accession aid programmes and to learn more about practice of integrated production for the needs of local markets.
2010
- February:
- Niš City Mayor together with the representatives of Niš city public utility enterprises visited Ljubljana in order to learn more about the functioning of the public enterprises in that city and the development projects that the city was implementing. Mayor of Niš and Mayor of Slovenia discussed the possibilities of preparing and developing joint projects. Niš City delegation attended the presentations on the restructuring and functioning of the public utility companies in Ljubljana. This visit was very important for the representatives from Niš City public utility companies because they could find more about the ways of applying for EU funds.
2009
- March:
- Niš City Assembly delegation, participated in work of the symposium held on Bled, Slovenia, entitled Serbia on the way to EU - Good practices of Slovenia. The aim of the symposium was to offer state administration and local self-governments in the Republic of Serbia modern solutions on issuing different acts of local self-government bodies, simplification of communication procedures between citizens and city administration bodies and improvement of organisation and quality of local self-government bodies work, and all that based on the positive experiences of Slovenia. During the symposium Niš City Assembly delegation met and exchanged experiences with the representatives of European Commission Office for Slovenia, representatives of the Directorate for e-government and administrative procedures, representatives of Slovenian Economic Chamber and professors of Law Faculties of the University of Ljubljana and Maribor.
- Niš City Council members held a series of meetings with the representatives from Slovenian institutions led by an economy consultant to the Slovenian ambassador in Serbia. During the meetings, the Niš City management presented the city projects eligible for the application with EU funds together with Slovenian partners. It was agreed with Slovenian partners to continue the cooperation in the implementation of the joint projects within the framework of Transnational Cooperation Programme - Objective 3 for the cooperation area of South East Europe for the year 2009. The cave Cerjanska and the Emperor's palace are two most important projects and they are chosen for the joint application with EU funds. By establishing cooperation between the Slovenian Institute for Heritage Preservation and Niš City Monument Preservation Institute, as well as by establishing cooperation between our two touristic organisations, the City of Niš will try to apply jointly to EU funds relevant for the development of touristic potentials.
