2010

The public auction for the lease-holding of the unconstructed city land and publicly owned construction sites was held in June. The Israeli company IMO REAL ltd won the auction for the land slot of the total area of 4289 sqm in the settlement of Duvanište intended for the construction of residential objects.

2009

H.E. Arthur Koll, the Ambassador of Israel in Serbia opened officially first HOME CENTER store in Niš located at 1000sqm. Home Center is the leading Israeli chain of do-it-yourself shops with more than 60 branches all over the world. This Israeli company hired 21 workers from Niš.
City of Niš supported the veterans from Serbian Army 63 parachuting brigade to participate at the manifestation called Leap of Freedom 2009 held in Israel. Serbian parachutists agreed on future cooperation steps with their Israeli colleagues who were going to participate at the following Balkan Leap of Friendship which would be held in Serbia. Parachutist delegation visited the City of Beersheba, Niš twin city, and met with the city administration representatives.
The city of Niš has very good cooperation with the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade. The Israeli Embassy paid special interest to the Niš City projects of opening the Jewish Community Office in Niš and relocation Roma settlement from the location of former Jewish cemetery.
